This past Friday Kristin and I completed what I would argue was our first community development work. As you know, we've been trying to get some new equipment for our weight room, but we don't have the money with which to buy anything. What happens when necessity and lack of resources meet? Creativity flourishes!
Instead of buying much needed training plates for our athletes (I won't bore you with what those are), which would have cost over $250, Kristin and I made them out of plywood for only $30! Coach Sunkett was really excited when I showed him what we'd done. God gave us the creative spirit we needed to meet a need at our high school, which is giving us in-roads into the East St. Louis community!

Okay.
I.am.not.a.happy.camper.
There is so much going on good, and not so good with you, and I count on your blogs to come to my email because you told me you set it up for me that way. But guess what??
It.didn't.work.
So please fix it for me so that the blog stuff goes straight to my hotmail like your newsletters do. Thank you very much.
Now anyone who reads this can feel doubly sorry for you because they can see that you have a crazy mother in addition to all your other challenges! I am so thrilled for the blessings and good things God is giving Kristin and you to experience. I am so praying for you through the hard things. As your mom, it is awfully hard to know you two are so close to so much violence, and so hard to understand that this is the reality that people who live where you are have to face daily. I pray multiple times a day that God wrap His armor of Protection around you both and keep you safe always. I love you! Mom
And I know I am not anonymous, but this thing wouldn't accept my stuff I had typed to you any other way! Help!
Mom
